MAGIC starts in the eastern USA

Yesterday I came across a new IBM i user group with the wonderful name of MAGIC. I reached out to them for more information and received a wonderful reply from Laura Hamway. Her explanation of what the group is and what they want to achieve, was so good I am just going to include it here.

Mid-Atlantic Group of IBM i Collaborators (MAGIC) was formed to help IBM i Users in this region (VA, NC, DE, MD and PA) to network and to facilitate ongoing education. The group was formed to support this region but anyone can join. We have all the frame work done, now we are ready to get started in 2017!

Join MAGIC and become involved in your IBM i Community! We are looking for users also to provide topics of interest – what obstacles are you running into at your shop? We can then look at including these topics during our monthly meetings. Another way to get involved is to share your ideas and tips to the group. This is a User Group and it is very important for the users to be involved.

Their website is at magic-ug.org.

You all know that I am an enthusiastic supporter of user groups and believe that joining one will benefit your current work and your long term career. If you are in the Mid-Atlantic area of the USA I strongly recommend you check MAGIC out at their inaugural meeting next year.

I wish MAGIC all the best, and hope that they become a success and a major group in the IBM i community.

You will find a list of all the User Groups I have found on the IBM i user groups page. If there is a group near you I recommend you check them out. If you are a member of a user group or know of one that is not on the list please let me know its details by using the Contact Form on the right.
